Traditional vs. Encore

The key reason to purchase an Azalea is for its bloom. Our traditional Azaleas typically have large blooms in the spring for 4-6 weeks. Encore Azaleas have a slightly smaller bloom that is also seen in spring, but will have an “encore” performance in summer and fall.

Both do well in sun up to late morning, but our traditional Azaleas handle shade better. Traditional Azaleas typically have a faster rate of growth (getting quite large) whereas Encores grow fairly slowly and stay usually 4 feet tall and under.

There are dozens of both available at different sizes and colors.
