Temperatures between 50-70 degrees are ideal. Winter temperatures in the Lowcountry are typically too cold to leave poinsettias outside.
Keep plants away from cold drafts, heating vents, and fireplaces.
Check plants daily for water. ONLY water when soil is dry.
Use water that is room temperature.
Don’t let the potted plant sit in standing water.
When plants are wrapped on foil, make a hole in the bottom of the foil to allow for drainage.
Concerned about pets? The ASPCA website is a good place to find answers about the plants which are, or are not, toxic to pets.
